The Challenge: In March of 2018, a severe storm bringing high winds caused part of the existing EPDM roof membrane at the school to become delaminated and fold over itself. The challenge was to design a replacement roof system with enhanced wind uplift resistance. Thus, tighter adhesive spacing and denser coverage was used in the installation of the cover boards, insulation boards and roof membrane.
Project Scope:
Multi-phased facade restoration completed by Heritage Restoration over the summers of 2017-2019.
Full cleaning of facades, terracotta crack and spall repairs, mortar joint restoration, 100% repainting of all wood window frames and cast iron spandrels.
Repair of rotted wood, resecurement of existing wood trim and cast iron elements, installation of raised sealant joints at skyward facing joints.
Replacement of all wood perimeter and metal panel sealants, selective stucco repairs and coating of existing previously coated copper roofs over the bays.
